CDRL RESPONSE TO THE WHICH? REPORT ‘ARE ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION SCHEMES WORKING FOR CONSUMERS’ DATED APRIL 2021
We are rightly proud of the work that our colleagues do in helping consumers obtain redress. Since we were established we have helped in excess of 100,000 consumers. The Which report provides a timely reminder that we should always be looking for ways that we can improve our services and help the businesses we work with become better businesses at the same time. So we are pleased to announce that we will be working with Leon Livermore, the ex-Chief Executive of the Chartered Trading Standards Institute and overseer of the competent authority function on behalf of BEIS. Leon’s remit is a wide one with the goal to continue our journey of continuous improvement and keep the consumer at the heart of everything we do”
Leon commented “I am excited to be working with colleagues at CDRL and the broad remit they have given me is a fantastic opportunity to help the organisation build upon their strong base and provide even better outcomes for consumers. The Which report has highlighted the progress we have made but some of the challenges that still exist in the system. With the Consumer Command Paper on the horizon now is the time for policy makers, regulators, providers, consumer and business groups to come together to help shape the future of dispute resolution in the UK to meet the needs of a diverse range of stakeholders. I am really looking forward to playing my part in that.”
